it off totally. It got some bite but not enough. Also, it is so far back up in the wheel well it is hard to get any force for a hammer blow. I had to stick several extensions together to get the end to stick out past the wheelwell, and then you *really* had to lay into it to even start to get it to drive over the socket. They are high grade nuts, right? I kept cringing thinking about if I was 1/2" off on my hammer blow and took out my fender. I can't believe it wouldn't come off even after getting heated with the torch and impact gunned. I used the torch for so long the undercoating was all smoking from behind the bracket and part of it caught fire. I was able to put it out, and did have my trusty fire-extinguisher handy in case things got out of control. You think JB Weld might work? I have used it before to mount some tweets to a metal plate inside the dash of the Jeep and it did not hold. I kinda like the idea of drilling down teh side of the nut, maybe I can do that, tehn torch it again, then drive a smaller socket on it! LOL
